Yoga For Beginners
This 9 week course is designed for the absolute Beginner or the Beginner at heart. The intention of this series is to introduce and explain breath techniques and fundamental asanas (yoga postures). While most people think of Yoga as pretzel poses, the asanas are only one of 8 limbs of Yoga. Interspersed throughout the series, you will gain a basic understanding of the 8 limbs.
A beautiful Yoga class flowing the body from one asana to the next linking the breath with the movement. It will increase your energy, calm your mind, and strengthen your body.
Complimentary to more physical styles of yoga, Yin is a relaxed practice of asanas held from 3 to 5 minutes at a time. Physically, Yin restores and maintains natural joint mobility. Energetically, it opens the body's meridian system supporting emotional equilibrium. Yin yoga prepares the body and the mind for deeper experiences in meditation.
A gentle and nurturing practice to strengthen body and mind. Within a strong and balanced body, the mind becomes clearer in its thinking allowing the practitioner to realize their true potential for happiness. As long as you are breathing, the belief is that there is more right with you than wrong.
This class stimulates the nervous, glandular and immune systems as it centres the mind and opens the spirit. These results are achieved through specific yoga posture sets. All yoga seeks to raise your "kunalini energy" or your true creative potential. The effects of Kundalini yoga can have immediate benefits regardless of one's age or abilities.
The focus is on overall strengthening using resistance bands and small balls, modifying for different abilities and gently stretching out the muscles to create healthy, toned, lean muscles.
we will break down the Primary series asanas to build a strong and solid practice. Ashtanga Primary series is a specific sequence of postures, repeated each class in the attempt to refine the practice. Ashtanga strengthens weak muscles, increases flexibility throughout the entire body and greatly increases core strength and breath capacity.
This powerful and vigorous practice purifies and realigns the body, cultivating a feeling of inner peace, and leading to a natural state of meditation. This is an Instructor lead class flowing through the sequence. 90 minutes
