Namaste Yoga Centre

What are you storing in your body? Find out... Tight shoulders, clenched jaws, rounded backs… these days, who doesn’t suffer? But what we often don’t realize is that our bodies coil and tighten not only from wear and tear, but also from emotions and feelings we fail to process. Let our experienced therapists do the work you can’t. As they surface and soothe what lingers within, relax and let the healing powers of massage take over.

Swedish:
Massage therapists use long smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements on superficial layers of muscle using massage lotion or oil. Swedish massage therapy can be very gentle and relaxing. If you've never had massage before, this is a good one to try first.

Deep Tissue:
Deep tissue massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. The massage therapist uses slower strokes or friction techniques across the grain of the muscle. Deep tissue massage is used for chronically tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, or recovery from injury. People often feel sore for one to two days after deep tissue massage.

Prenatal:
Also called pregnancy massage, prenatal massage is becoming increasingly popular with expectant mothers. Prenatal massage helps to reduce stress, decrease swelling, relieve aches and pains, and reduce anxiety and depression. The massage is customized to a woman's individual needs.

Thai Massage:
Thai massage is more energizing and rigorous than more classic forms of massage. Thai massage is also called Thai yoga massage, becuase the therapist uses his or her hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a seris of yoga-like stretches. Many people say Thai massage is like doing yoga without any work. Muscle compression, joint mobilization, and acupressure are also used during treatment. People describe this massage as both relaxing and energizing.
